Walking in a "Whisker Wonderland"

22nd Annual Gala Just Around the Corner!

That's right...our 22nd annual SPCA Reigning Cats and Dogs gala is coming up soon! Join us on Saturday, October 18 from 6:30 to 10PM at the Sacramento Convention Center where the theme of the evening will be "Whisker Wonderland" featuring delicious food from over 30 restaurants, an equal number of wineries and breweries, as well as large silent and live auctions and some interesting entertainment. General admission tickets are $65 prior to October 10th and $75 thereafter. VIP tickets are $100 and tables of 10 can be purchased for $1,000.

This year, our VIP area is hosted by LuxLife Magazine with food provided by Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa. VIP area guests will receive butler-served reserve wines.

Live auction items include round trip airfare and travel packages to Carmel, Disneyland and the Napa Valley wine country, original artwork, food and wine packages and so much more! This year's grand prize is a stunning diamond necklace and earrings from Guzzetta & Company Fine Jewelers.

Live entertainment will be provided by AirAligned, Aerial Dance Group and Starling Strings quartet, members of the Sacramento Philharmonic and psychic Linda Schooler who will be doing reading for people and their pets (bring picture).

For more than 100 years the Sacramento SPCA has been providing shelter and compassionate care to Sacramento's homeless and unwanted animals. All proceeds from the Gala benefit the animals in the SPCA's care.

    See Adoptable Animals on Comcast!

The Sacramento SPCA and Comcast recently teamed up to bring Sacramento SPCA adoptable pets to television via Comcast on Demand. On Demand is free and allows Comcast viewers to select their choice of programming from a given set of menus using their remote control.

Choose Get Local from the menu, select Pet Adoptions then Sacramento SPCA. Animals are divided into categories and clicking on the animal will allow you to view a short clip of the animal interacting with an Sacramento SPCA employee along with a description of the animal and a little about it's personality.

For further information about the animals pictured in On Demand, please call our adoptions desk at (916) 383-pets, ext. 9156. If you're interested in subscribing to Comcast On Demand, please call Comcast at 1-800-COMCAST or visit their website at Comcast.com.
